  نظّمت كلية التقنيات الإحيائية في جامعة النهرين ندوة علمية بعنوان “دور التقانة الإحيائية في علاج الأمراض المناعية”، وذلك ضمن نشاطات وحدة التعليم المستمر، بحضور عدد من التدريسيين والباحثين وطلبة الدراسات العليا.   وقدمت الندوة الأستاذ المساعد الدكتورة رواء نزار الجلبي، حيث استعرضت أحدث التطورات العلمية في فهم الجهاز المناعي، ودور التقانة الإحيائية في تطوير أساليب علاجه.   وركزت الندوة على العلاقة بين العوامل الوراثية وكفاءة الجهاز المناعي، وتأثير الطفرات الجينية على الاستجابة المناعية للأمراض. كما تناولت تقنيات الهندسة الوراثية والتعديل الجيني لتعزيز مقاومة الجسم للأمراض المناعية، إضافة إلى تطبيقات العلاج الجيني، وتطوير الأدوية البيولوجية المستهدفة، وتعديل الاستجابة المناعية لتحسين فعالية العلاج.   قسم الإعلام والاتصال الحكومي رئاسة جامعة النهرين     The College of Biotechnology at Al-Nahrain University Organizes a Seminar on the Treatment of Immune Diseases   The College of Biotechnology at Al-Nahrain University organized a scientific seminar titled “The Role of Biotechnology in Treating Immune Diseases”, as part of the Continuing Education Unit’s activities, with the attendance of faculty members, researchers, and graduate students.   The seminar was presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Rawa Nizar Al-Jalabi, who discussed the latest scientific developments in understanding the immune system and the applications of biotechnology in its treatment.   The seminar focused on the relationship between genetic factors and immune system efficiency, and the role of genetic mutations in immune responses to diseases. It also highlighted genetic engineering and gene editing techniques used to enhance the body’s resistance to immune diseases, as well as gene therapy applications, the development of targeted biologic drugs, and immune response modification to improve treatment effectiveness.   Department of Media and Government Communication Al-Nahrain University Presidency

  ناقشت كلية العلوم السياسية في جامعة النهرين رسالة الماجستير الموسومة “السياسة الخارجية الأمريكية تجاه كوريا الشمالية منذ عام 2017”، التي قدّمتها الباحثة نيران محمد علي زكي، وذلك في قاعة حضارات النهرين.   وتهدف الرسالة إلى دراسة تأثير البرنامجين النووي والصاروخي لكوريا الشمالية على التوازن الإقليمي، مع تسليط الضوء على رؤية الولايات المتحدة وحلفائها لهذا التهديد. كما تناولت تطور السياسة الخارجية الأمريكية في التعامل مع الأزمة الكورية، من خلال استراتيجيات الاحتواء التي جمعت بين المعالجات الثنائية ومتعددة الأطراف.   وأكد البحث على أهمية تطوير الأداء الدبلوماسي في معالجة الأزمات الدولية، مشددًا على ضرورة الحوار المتبادل وتعزيز الثقة بين واشنطن وبيونغ يانغ كأدوات أساسية لحل المشكلات الإقليمية والدولية.   قسم الإعلام والاتصال الحكومي رئاسة جامعة النهرين     The College of Political Science at Al-Nahrain University Discusses U.S. Foreign Policy Toward North Korea   The College of Political Science at Al-Nahrain University discussed a master’s thesis titled “U.S. Foreign Policy Toward North Korea Since 2017”, presented by researcher Niran Mohammed Ali Zaki, in the Nahrain Civilizations Hall.   The thesis aims to examine the impact of North Korea’s nuclear and missile programs on regional stability, highlighting the perspectives of the United States and its allies regarding this threat. It also explores the evolution of U.S. foreign policy in addressing the Korean crisis, balancing bilateral and multilateral containment strategies.   The research emphasizes the importance of enhancing diplomatic performance in managing international crises, stressing the role of mutual dialogue and confidence-building between Washington and Pyongyang as essential tools for resolving regional and global challenges.   Department of Media and Government Communication Al-Nahrain University Presidency

  نظمت شعبة الإعلام والاتصال الحكومي في كلية الصيدلة بجامعة النهرين، بالتعاون مع قسم الإعلام والاتصال الحكومي في رئاسة الجامعة، ندوة علمية بعنوان “الإعاقة: أسبابها والرعاية الخاصة بها”، قدمها كل من الدكتورة سحر سلمان محمد، والدكتور كريم عبيس محمد، والدكتور مهند عبدالصاحب زبون.   ناقشت الندوة أهمية رعاية ذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة وتوفير بيئة داعمة تمكّنهم من العيش باستقلالية والمشاركة الفعالة في المجتمع. كما تناولت الندوة محاور تتعلق بالدمج المجتمعي وتعزيز الاستقلالية، توفير الفرص المتكافئة في التعليم والعمل، الرعاية الصحية والنفسية، رفع الوعي المجتمعي، وتنمية المهارات والقدرات.   كما تم تناول أسباب الإعاقة، مثل الأسباب الوراثية، مشاكل أثناء الحمل والولادة، الأمراض والإصابات بعد الولادة، سوء التغذية، والحرمان البيئي.   في الختام، تم التأكيد على ضرورة تحقيق العدالة الاجتماعية والمساواة لذوي الإعاقة وضمان حياة كريمة لهم من خلال تعزيز سبل الدعم والتأهيل ورفع مستوى الوعي المجتمعي حول حقوقهم واحتياجاتهم.   قسم الإعلام والاتصال الحكومي رئاسة جامعة النهرين      The College of Pharmacy at Al-Nahrain University Organizes a Scientific Seminar on Disability, Its Causes, and Specialized Care   The Media and Government Communication Division at the College of Pharmacy, in collaboration with the Department of Media and Government Communication at the university presidency, organized a scientific seminar titled “Disability: Its Causes and Specialized Care.” The seminar was presented by Dr. Sahar Salman Mohammed, Dr. Kareem Abees Mohammed, and Dr. Muhannad Abdul Sahib Zaboon.   The seminar discussed the importance of supporting individuals with disabilities by providing an inclusive environment that enables them to live independently and actively participate in society. Key topics included social integration and independence, equal opportunities in education and employment, healthcare and psychological support, raising societal awareness, and developing skills and capabilities.   Additionally, the seminar addressed the causes of disability, such as genetic factors, pregnancy and birth complications, postnatal diseases and injuries, malnutrition, and environmental deprivation.   In conclusion, the discussion emphasized the necessity of achieving social justice and equality for individuals with disabilities, ensuring them a dignified life through enhanced support systems, rehabilitation programs, and increased public awareness of their rights and needs.   Department of Media and Government Communication Al-Nahrain University Presidency

  اختتم المعهد العالي للعلوم العدلية في جامعة النهرين دورة تدريبية متخصصة بعنوان “استخلاص الحمض النووي (DNA) من مصادر مختلفة”، بمشاركة نخبة من المختصين في المجال العدلي والعلمي.   وتضمنت الدورة محاضرات نظرية وتطبيقات عملية حول أحدث تقنيات استخلاص وفحص الحمض النووي، مع التركيز على دوره المحوري في التحقيقات العدلية والجنائية. كما تم تدريب المشاركين على تحليل العينات البيولوجية واستخدام التقنيات المتقدمة لضمان دقة النتائج العلمية.   من جانبه، أكد عميد المعهد العالي، الأستاذ المساعد الدكتور ضياء شامخ، أهمية هذه البرامج في تطوير المهارات العلمية والعملية، وتعزيز دور الأدلة الجنائية في تحقيق العدالة.   قسم الإعلام والاتصال الحكومي رئاسة جامعة النهرين      The Higher Institute of Forensic Sciences Concludes a Training Course on DNA Extraction Techniques   The Higher Institute of Forensic Sciences at Al-Nahrain University concluded a specialized training course titled “DNA Extraction from Various Sources”, with the participation of experts in forensic and scientific fields.   The course included theoretical lectures and practical applications on the latest DNA extraction and analysis techniques, emphasizing its critical role in forensic and criminal investigations. Participants were trained in analyzing biological samples and utilizing advanced technologies to ensure the accuracy of scientific results.   Asst.   نظم مركز بحوث التقنيات الأحيائية في جامعة النهرين دورة علمية بعنوان “الفحص البكتيري: استخدام التقنيات المختبرية المتقدمة”، بمشاركة عدد من الباحثين والمتخصصين في المجالات العلمية والطبية.   وتهدف الدورة إلى تقديم تدريب عملي مكثف للمشاركين، حيث تضمنت محاورها تشخيص البكتيريا باستخدام تقنيات حديثة مثل Remel، وتقييم حساسيتها للمضادات الحيوية، إضافةً إلى تحديد التراكيز المثبطة والقاتلة باستخدام تقنيتي MIC & MBC. كما شملت الدورة أساليب العد البكتيري للعينات السائلة والصلبة، مع تدريب المشاركين على حساب عدد المستعمرات البكتيرية باستخدام معادلات رياضية متخصصة.   وأقيمت الدورة تحت إشراف نخبة من تدريسيي قسم التقنيات الأحيائية البيئية، واختُتمت بتوزيع شهادات المشاركة على المتدربين من قبل الأستاذ الدكتور محمد محمود فرحان، مدير المركز، الذي أكد أهمية هذه الدورات في تعزيز مهارات الباحثين وتحسين جودة الأبحاث التطبيقية في مجال الفحوصات البكتيرية.   قسم الإعلام والاتصال الحكومي رئاسة جامعة النهرين   The Biotechnology Research Center at Al-Nahrain University Organizes a Workshop on Bacterial Testing Using Advanced Techniques   The Biotechnology Research Center at Al-Nahrain University organized a scientific workshop titled “Bacterial Testing: Utilizing Advanced Laboratory Techniques”, with the participation of researchers and specialists from various scientific and medical fields.   The workshop aimed to provide intensive hands-on training for participants, covering key topics such as bacterial identification using modern techniques like Remel, assessing bacterial sensitivity to antibiotics, and determining inhibitory and bactericidal concentrations using MIC & MBC techniques. It also included bacterial counting methods for liquid and solid samples, along with training on calculating bacterial colony counts using specialized mathematical equations.   The workshop was conducted under the supervision of a distinguished group of faculty members from the Department of Environmental Biotechnology.   وقع مدير مركز بحوث التقنيات الأحيائية في جامعة النهرين، الأستاذ الدكتور محمد محمود فرحان، مذكرة تعاون علمي مع عميد كلية التقنيات الصحية والطبية في جامعة المعارف، الأستاذ المساعد الدكتور رائد عبيد السبهاني.   وتهدف المذكرة إلى تعزيز التعاون الأكاديمي والبحثي بين المؤسستين، حيث تشمل تنفيذ برامج علمية وأكاديمية مشتركة، وتنظيم ورش عمل ودورات تدريبية متخصصة، إضافة إلى تبادل الزيارات العلمية والخبرات بين الباحثين والتدريسيين، والتنسيق في المشاريع البحثية المشتركة بمجالات التقنيات الصحية والتطبيقية.   وأعرب الجانبان عن تطلعهما إلى تحقيق تعاون مثمر يسهم في دعم المسيرة العلمية والبحثية في العراق، وتعزيز تبادل المعرفة بين الجامعات والمؤسسات الأكاديمية.   قسم الإعلام والاتصال الحكومي رئاسة جامعة النهرين     The Biotechnology Research Center at Al-Nahrain University Signs a Cooperation Agreement with Al-Maaref University   The Director of the Biotechnology Research Center at Al-Nahrain University, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Mahmoud Farhan, signed a scientific cooperation agreement with the Dean of the College of Health and Medical Technologies at Al-Maaref University, Asst. Prof. Dr. Raed Obaid Al-Sibahani.   The agreement aims to strengthen academic and research collaboration between the two institutions. It includes implementing joint scientific and academic programs, organizing specialized workshops and training courses, exchanging scientific visits and expertise between researchers and faculty members, and coordinating joint research projects in the fields of health and applied technologies.   Both parties expressed their eagerness to achieve fruitful cooperation that contributes to supporting the scientific and research progress in Iraq and enhancing knowledge exchange between universities and academic institutions.   Department of Media and Government Communication Al-Nahrain University Presidency

  التقى السيد رئيس جامعة النهرين، الأستاذ الدكتور علي عبد العزيز الشاوي، بالرئيس المؤسس للرابطة العالمية للتنمية المستدامة (WASD)، الأستاذ الدكتور علام النور عثمان أحمد، لبحث آفاق التعاون المشترك بين الجامعة والمنظمة، وسبل الاستفادة من الخبرات العلمية للطرفين.   جاء اللقاء على هامش مشاركة السيد رئيس الجامعة في منتدى توجهات المستقبل، الذي استضافته جامعة الملك خالد في مدينة أبها بالمملكة العربية السعودية، حيث تناولت جلسات المنتدى أبرز التوجهات العالمية في مجالات البحث العلمي والابتكار والتنمية المستدامة.   وشهد الاجتماع حضور الأستاذ المساعد الدكتور حسن موسى الموسوي، مدير قسم البعثات والعلاقات الثقافية في جامعة النهرين، حيث استعرض الجانبان سبل تطوير التعاون البحثي والأكاديمي، وتعزيز تبادل الخبرات بين جامعة النهرين والرابطة العالمية للتنمية المستدامة. كما ناقش الطرفان إمكانية إقامة مشاريع وبرامج تدريبية مشتركة تسهم في تحقيق أهداف التنمية المستدامة، فضلاً عن تعزيز حضور الجامعة في المحافل العلمية الدولية.   وفي ختام اللقاء، أكد الجانبان أهمية استمرار التواصل لإيجاد شراكات استراتيجية تصب في مصلحة الطرفين، ودعم جهود جامعة النهرين في الانضمام إلى مبادرات أهداف التنمية المستدامة للجامعات (SDGs Initiatives)، بما يسهم في رفع تصنيفها الأكاديمي ودعم مساعيها لتحقيق التنمية المستدامة على المستوى البحثي والمؤسسي.   قسم الإعلام والاتصال الحكومي رئاسة جامعة النهرين     President of Al-Nahrain University Meets with the World Association for Sustainable Development   The President of Al-Nahrain University, Professor Dr. Ali Abdulaziz Al-Shawi, met with the founding president of the World Association for Sustainable Development (WASD), Professor Dr. Allam El Nour Osman Ahmed, to explore prospects for joint cooperation between the university and the organization and ways to benefit from the scientific expertise of both parties.   The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Future Trends Forum, hosted by King Khalid University in Abha, Saudi Arabia. The forum sessions addressed key global trends in scientific research, innovation, and sustainable development.   The meeting was attended by Assistant Professor Dr. Hassan Mousa Al-Mousawi, Director of the Scholarships and Cultural Relations Department at Al-Nahrain University. Both sides discussed ways to enhance research and academic cooperation and promote the exchange of expertise between Al-Nahrain University and WASD. They also explored the possibility of establishing joint projects and training programs that contribute to achieving sustainable development goals, as well as strengthening the university’s presence in international academic forums.   At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties emphasized the importance of maintaining ongoing communication to establish strategic partnerships that benefit both institutions. The event was attended by a distinguished group of university presidents and academic institution representatives from across the Arab world.   This event aimed to recognize universities that have achieved outstanding academic and research accomplishments and to highlight their efforts in advancing higher education and scientific research.   افتتحت كلية الهندسة في جامعة النهرين فعاليات الأسبوع الثقافي الأول، الذي أقامته الأمانة العامة للعتبة الحسينية المقدسة تحت عنوان “الجامعات ودورها في تعزيز متطلبات الأمن الفكري”، وذلك بحضور عدد من عمداء الكليات ونخبة من رجال الدين والعلماء والباحثين.   تضمن المهرجان إلقاء محاضرة من قبل ممثل العتبة الحسينية المقدسة الشيخ علي القرعاوي، الذي أكد فيها على دور الجامعات في تعزيز متطلبات الأمن الفكري، باعتبارها ركيزة أساسية لبناء أفكار علمية حديثة، وهو ما يتحقق من خلال المناهج الأكاديمية والأنشطة العلمية.   وشهدت الفعاليات إقامة معرض للصور، ومعرض للزهور، وعرض للمخطوطات القرآنية، بالإضافة إلى تقديم نبذة عن متحف الإمام الحسين (ع)، فضلًا عن ندوات حوارية، وجلسات بحثية، وعروض أفلام وثائقية، إلى جانب مشاركة فرقة الإنشاد.   ويهدف المهرجان إلى تعزيز دور الجامعات في الحفاظ على الهوية الثقافية، وزيادة التعاون بين المؤسسات التعليمية والدينية، ودعم الحوار الثقافي والفكري، فضلًا عن تعزيز البحث العلمي في مجال الأمن الفكري.   قسم الإعلام والاتصال الحكومي رئاسة جامعة النهرين     Al-Nahrain University Inaugurates the First Cultural Week of the Holy Hussainiya Shrine   The College of Engineering at Al-Nahrain University inaugurated the First Cultural Week, organized by the General Secretariat of the Holy Hussainiya Shrine under the title “Universities and Their Role in Enhancing the Requirements of Intellectual Security.” The event was attended by several college deans, as well as a distinguished group of religious scholars, academics, and researchers.   The festival featured a lecture by Sheikh Ali Al-Qaraawi, the representative of the Holy Hussainiya Shrine, who emphasized the role of universities in strengthening intellectual security as a fundamental pillar for developing modern scientific thought. He highlighted that this is achieved through academic curricula and scientific activities.   The event included a photography exhibition, a flower exhibition, a display of Quranic manuscripts, and an introduction to the Imam Hussain Museum, in addition to dialogue seminars, research sessions, and documentary film screenings, along with a performance by the Inshad (religious chanting) troupe.   The festival aimed to enhance the role of universities in preserving cultural identity, increase cooperation between educational and religious institutions, support cultural and intellectual dialogue, and promote scientific research in the field of intellectual security.   Media and Government Communication Department Al-Nahrain University Presidency

  وقّعت كلية هندسة المعلومات في جامعة النهرين مذكرة تفاهم وتوأمة علمية مع كلية التقنيات الهندسية في جامعة الإسراء، وذلك في إطار توجيهات وزارة التعليم العالي والبحث العلمي لتعزيز التعاون الأكاديمي بين الجامعات الحكومية والأهلية.   وأكّد عميد الكلية، الأستاذ الدكتور حكمت نجم عبدالله، أن هذه المذكرة تهدف إلى تعزيز التعاون العلمي والبحثي بين الطرفين، حيث تشمل التوأمة العلمية مجالات البحث العلمي والتطوير المعرفي، إضافةً إلى تبادل الخبرات الأكاديمية بين الكوادر التدريسية.   كما تضمّنت المذكرة بنودًا لتطوير برامج التعليم والتدريب، بما يسهم في تحسين جودة التعليم وتوسيع الفرص المتاحة للطلبة والتدريسيين، الأمر الذي سينعكس إيجابيًا على تطوير التخصصات الهندسية الحديثة وتعزيز مستوى التعليم العالي في العراق.   قسم الإعلام والاتصال الحكومي رئاسة جامعة النهرين      The College of Information Engineering at Al-Nahrain University Signs a Memorandum of Understanding and Academic Twinning Agreement with Al-Israa University   The College of Information Engineering at Al-Nahrain University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding and an academic twinning agreement with the College of Engineering Technologies at Al-Israa University. This initiative aligns with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to strengthen academic collaboration between public and private universities.   The Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Hikmat Najm Abdullah, emphasized that the agreement aims to enhance scientific and research cooperation between the two institutions. The academic twinning includes areas such as scientific research, knowledge development, and the exchange of academic expertise among faculty members.   The memorandum also outlines provisions for developing educational and training programs, contributing to the improvement of education quality and expanding opportunities for students and faculty members.   نشرت التدريسية أروى محمد صالح من المعهد العالي للعلوم العدلية في جامعة النهرين دراسة علمية حديثة في مجلة Iraqi Journal of Science، تناولت دور الجزيء (miR-802) في تحفيز الانتقال الظهاري-اللحمي المتوسط (EMT) في سرطان الثدي، من خلال استهدافه لجين (CDH2)، مما يجعله مرشحًا ليكون علامة بيولوجية للكشف عن المرض وتطوره.   أُجريت الدراسة على 50 عينة نسيجية مأخوذة من نساء عراقيات، حيث كان نصف العينات من مصابات بسرطان الثدي الخبيث، والنصف الآخر من مصابات بأورام حميدة. وأظهرت النتائج، باستخدام تقنية (qRT-PCR)، ارتفاعًا ملحوظًا في مستويات (miR-802) لدى المصابات بالأورام الخبيثة مقارنة بالمصابات بالأورام الحميدة، مما يشير إلى دوره المحتمل في تطور المرض.   وخلصت الدراسة إلى أن هذه النتائج تعزز الفهم العلمي لآليات تطور سرطان الثدي، وتفتح المجال لاستخدام (miR-802) كأداة تشخيصية وعلاجية مستقبلية. كما أوصى الباحثون بإجراء دراسات موسعة للتحقق من صحة هذه النتائج وإمكانية تطبيقها سريريًا، مما قد يسهم في تحسين استراتيجيات التشخيص والعلاج لمرضى سرطان الثدي في العراق والعالم.   قسم الإعلام والاتصال الحكومي رئاسة جامعة النهرين     A Study at Al-Nahrain University Reveals the Role of (miR-802) in Breast Cancer Progression   Arwa Mohammed Saleh, a faculty member at the Higher Institute of Forensic Sciences at Al-Nahrain University, has published a recent scientific study in the Iraqi Journal of Science. The study examines the role of (miR-802) in promoting epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer by targeting the (CDH2) gene, making it a potential biomarker for disease detection and progression.   The research was conducted on 50 tissue samples from Iraqi women, with half of the samples obtained from patients with malignant breast cancer and the other half from patients with benign tumors. The results, obtained using qRT-PCR technology, revealed a significant increase in (miR-802) levels in patients with malignant tumors compared to those with benign tumors, suggesting its potential role in disease progression.   The study concluded that these findings enhance the scientific understanding of breast cancer development mechanisms and suggest the potential use of (miR-802) as a diagnostic and therapeutic tool in the future. The final training sessions were conducted at the laboratories of Wahaj Al-Ma’arifa Foundation, where certificates of completion were awarded to the participating students.   The course was supervised by a team of department faculty members, alongside specialized staff from the foundation. The focus was on developing students’ laboratory skills and providing them with practical experience to enhance their readiness for the job market.   ناقشت كلية التقنيات الأحيائية بجامعة النهرين رسالة ماجستير عن “تحري محددات الضراوة blaACT و blaACC بين أنواع بكتيريا Proteus المعزولة سريريًا من العراق” للطالبة نور محمد جاسم.    تناولت الرسالة مشكلة مقاومة البكتيريا للمضادات الحيوية، مع التركيز على Proteus mirabilis، التي تُعد من المسببات الرئيسية للعدوى في المستشفيات وتشكل تحديًا متزايدًا في المجال الصحي بسبب مقاومتها المتزايدة للأدوية.   أكدت الدراسة على ضرورة مراقبة تطور مقاومة البكتيريا للمضادات الحيوية في العراق، ودعت إلى تعزيز البحث في العوامل الوراثية المساهمة في المقاومة بهدف تطوير استراتيجيات علاجية أكثر فاعلية لمكافحة العدوى البكتيرية المقاومة.   كشفت النتائج أن 20% من العزلات كانت متعددة المقاومة للأدوية (XDR)، مع مقاومة تامة لبعض المضادات الحيوية مثل الجنتاميسين والتيجيسايكلين، في حين أبدت حساسية تجاه الإرتابينيم. كما أظهرت الفحوصات الجينية انتشار جين aac(6’)-Ib في جميع العزلات، وعند تحييد البلازميدات، انخفضت نسبة المقاومة بمعدل 50%.   قسم الإعلام والاتصال الحكومي رئاسة جامعة النهرين      Master’s Thesis at the College of Biotechnology, Al-Nahrain University, Discusses Bacterial Resistance to Antibiotics   The College of Biotechnology at Al-Nahrain University discussed a master’s thesis titled “Screening of blaACT and blaACC Virulence Determinants Among Proteus spp. Clinically Isolated from Iraq” by Noor Mohammed Jasim.   The thesis addressed the issue of bacterial resistance to antibiotics, focusing on Proteus mirabilis, which is one of the main causes of hospital-acquired infections and poses an increasing challenge in the healthcare sector due to its growing drug resistance.   The study emphasized the need to monitor the development of bacterial resistance to antibiotics in Iraq and called for strengthening research on the genetic factors contributing to resistance, with the aim of developing more effective therapeutic strategies to combat antibiotic-resistant bacterial infections.   The results revealed that 20% of the isolates were extensively drug-resistant (XDR), showing complete resistance to certain antibiotics such as gentamicin and tigecycline, while remaining sensitive to ertapenem. The lecture also explained the acceptance criteria for these research platforms and clarified ways to improve research quality and increase publication opportunities in accredited scientific journals.   The lecture was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Hussein Faisal, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs at the College of Nursing, Al-Bayan University. The event was attended by the University President, Prof. Dr. Ali Abdulaziz Al-Shawi, the Assistant President for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Alaa Hussein, the Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Jumaa Salman, a member of the Higher Committee for the Holy Quran, Dr. Rafi Al-Amiri, along with a number of faculty members and students.   The celebration included scientific lectures delivered by specialists in Quranic sciences, focusing on the methods of scientific Quranic recitation, the arts of Tajweed, and techniques for memorizing and reciting the Holy Quran. The program also featured Quranic recitations, religious chants, and the honoring of distinguished Quran reciters and outstanding students in Quran memorization.   In his speech, Prof. Dr. Ali Abdulaziz Al-Shawi emphasized the spiritual and scientific values that the Holy Quran represents as the foundation of culture and ethics in Iraqi society. The workshop was attended by a number of postgraduate students and faculty members.   Assistant Lecturer Hiba Kamel delivered a lecture in which she explained the details of the tuition fee reduction mechanism set by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for the current year. She clarified the categories eligible for the reduction and the required procedures, and responded to inquiries from students and newly appointed staff regarding the implementation of ministerial instructions related to the reduction.   For her part, Professor Dr. Nasreen Raheem Jabir, Director of the Department of Postgraduate Studies at the University Presidency, explained how to interpret the ministerial directives related to the reduction of tuition fees for all academic stages.
